๐Ÿ”ฌ BaZnGa - The Chemical Compound

BaZnGa is a poor metal, a new ternary compound made of Barium (Ba), Zinc (Zn), and Gallium (Ga), whose creation was inspired by the catchphrase "Bazinga!" from the TV show "The Big Bang Theory" (TBBT). Developed by physicists at Iowa State University, BaZnGa features a unique crystal structure with layers of octahedrons of zinc and gallium atoms separated by sheets of barium atoms.

While its discovery was serendipitous, the compound does not exhibit any particularly remarkable electronic or magnetic properties.

The Discovery: A graduate student at Iowa State University, Na Hyun Jo, noticed a commercial for "The Big Bang Theory" (TBBT) featuring Sheldon Cooper's catchphrase "Bazinga!" and realized the letters could represent the elements Barium, Zinc, and Gallium (BaZnGa).
